GP 3 Week 2 Reflection (Due 1/23)

Aliyah had some candy to give to her four children. She first took seventeen pieces for herself and then evenly divided the rest among her children. Each child received two pieces. With how many pieces did she start?  USE THREE ENTENCES TO HELP EXPLAIN YOUR ANSWER

    Aliyah started with 33 pieces of candy.
    if there are 33 pieces of candy you would subtract 17. After subtracting 17 you would have 16 pieces left. 16 distributed to 4 different children will give you 3 pieces for each child. Evenly.

      I disagree with John because each kid (4) got 2 pieces of candy EACH. If each child got 2 and Aliyah took 17 for her self, than that means that you multiply 4x2 and you get 8. If you add 17+8=25. Aliyah started with 25 pieces of candy!

      Aliyah started with 25 pieces. she kept 17 for herself meaning if she has 4 children and they all had 2 each it would be 25 pieces started with.17 +(4^2) four squared would equal 25 hich they started with.

    Aliyah started with 25 pieces of candy. If you take 17 away from 25 you get 8. If you divide 4 from 8 you get 2. So each kid gets 2 pieces of candy each

      I agree with Alexus because, if Ailyah had took 17 of the candy 25-17=8 and she has 4 children. So 8/4=2. So all together, Ailyah had 25 pieces of candy.

      I agree with Alexus because 25-17=8. Then if you divide 8 by 4 you would get 2. Meaning she had 4 kids and she gave each kid 2 pieces.

    I agree with alexus because if each kid gets two peices. so that would be 8 divided by four which would get you down to two peices per kid

      If Aliyah started with 49 pieces of candy.
      If there are 49 pieces of candy you would take away 17. After taking away 17 you would have 32 pieces left. 32 divided by 4 different children will give you 8 pieces for each child.

    Aliyah started off with 25 pieces of candy. Since her kids each had two and there were 4 kids that would equal 8. After you figure that out you simply add that to the 17 she gave herself. 17+8=25.

    The answer is 25 pieces of candy. If you multiply 2 * 4=8. Then 8+17=25 pieces of candy

    There was 25 pieces of candy. Aliyah took 17 pieces of candy and gave the children 2 pieces each. So 2•4=8 and 17+8=25.

    Aliyah had first started with 25 pieces of candy and if you start to multiply like 2 times 4 equals eight right? Then you would add 8 with 17 which equals 25 pieces of candy. That's how I had gotten my answer.

    There Was 25 0f Candy. Aliyahhh had 17 Pieces Of candy and Gave the kiddles 2 pieces each So 2•4=8 & 17+8=25

    Aliyah Started With 25 Pieces Of Candy. What I Did Was Took 17 And Added 8. I Got 8 By Multiplying 4 And 2 Then I Just Added 17 And 8 And Got 25.

    The mom started with 25 pieces of candy. Since there are 4 kids and each kid get 2 pieces of candy so you multiply the two numbers and you get 8. Now add 17 and 8 and you get 25

    She started with 25 pieces of candy. When take away 17 you get 8. Then divide by 4 and get 2 pieces of candy. Aliyah has 2 pieces of candy in total.

    Aliyah started with 25. I fist did 4 x 2= 8. I then added that to 17 and got 25.So she had 25 to start with.
