Sumalee won 40 super bouncy balls playing horseshoes at her school's game night.

Later, she gave two to each of her friends.  She then gave one to her mother, one to her father, and two to her sister.  She only has 8 remaining. How many friends does she have?  Use three sentences to explain how you got your answer.

You start with the number of ball she has. Then u subtract 4 for the ones she gave to family.T hen 8 for the one she has left over. You are left with 28. She gave each of her friends 2 balls a piece so u divide by 2 and get 14 friends.

  3. Sumalee has 14 friends because she has 40 bouncy balls and gave away 4 to her mother, father and sister she would then have 36. Then you divide 36 by two because thats how many she gave to each of her friends you would then get 14 which is how many friends she have.

  4. Sumalee has 14 friends. To get this I subtracted 40-12 (Adding all the missing ones together) and got 28. Since she gave each of her friends 2, I divided 28 by 2 and got 14.

  8. Sumalee has 14 friends. I found my answer by subtracting the one ball she gave to her mom and the one to her day, and the two she gave to her sister, and got 36. Then I subtracted the 8 remaining balls she had, and got 28. Lastly, I divided that by the two balls she gave to each of her friends and got, and thus Sumalee has 14 friends.

  10. I Agree with India because if you subtract 12 from 40 you get 28. And then she gave all her friends 2 so you can divide 28 by 2 and get 14.

  14. You would get the answer by adding 8+2+1+1 which equals 12. Then you would subtract 12 from 40 which equals 28 and 28 divided by 2 is 14. Sumalee has 14 friends.

  16. She has 14 friends and you start with the number of bouncy balls. Then subtract by 4 she gives away. She now has 8 left over which leaves you with 28 then you divide by 2 to get 14.

  17. Sumalee has 14 friends. The number you start with is the amount of bouncy balls. Then subtract 4 the amount of balls she gives to her family. Then 8 for the amount of balls she has left over. You are left over with 28. So friend gets 2 balls then divide 28 by 2 and get 14.

  18. Sumalee got 14 friends. To get The Equation I Subtracted 40-12 Adding all the missing ones together and got 28. Since she Gave Each of Her friends 2, I Divided 28 By 2 and The Outcome Was 14.

  22. Sumalee has 14 friends in all. First I added the number of balls she gave to her family (4) to the numbers of balls she has left (8) which equals 12. I then subtracted 12 from 40 to get 28. Lastly I divided 2 into 28 which comes out to 14.

  23. Sumalee has 14 friends. 40=2f+1+1+2+8. She I subtracted the 8 (remaining balls) from 40. I then Subtracted 4 (4 i the total of the number of balls she gave to her mother father and sister.) So what I got left was 28=2f. I divided the 2 and got 14.

  24. She has 14 friends. If you multiply 14x2, you will get 28. Then if you subtract 40-28, you get 12. Then subtract 12-4 (4 equals one that she gave to both of her parents and the 2 to her sister) you get 8.

  27. Sumalee has 14 friends. I found this answer by subtracting that one ball she gave to her mom and the one to her dad, and the two she gave to her sister., and I got a total of 36. Then I subtracted the 8 leftover balls she had, and got 28. Last, I divided that by the two balls she gave to each of her friends and got, and thus Sumalee has 14 friends

  32. Sumalee has 14 friends. Out of the 40 super bouncy balls, 12 were in the equation. 1 for his mom, 1 for his dad, and two for his sister gives you 4. When you add the remaining and the 4 you get twelve. Subtract 12 from 40 which gives you 28, and divide the answer by two for each friend. 14.
