GP 3 Week 8 Reflection (Due 3/6)

Jenny was returning to the United State from the United Arab Emirates. Before returning, she did some research and learned that the exchange rate is 2 US dollars for every 4 Dirhams. How many dollars would she get if she exchanged 21 Dirhams?  Make sure that your answer is rounded to the nearest hundredth to represent money.  Use three sentences to help explain how you got your answer.

  1. If Jenny brought 21 Dirhams to the States Jenny would have $10.50 because the rate is 2 US doallars for every Dirhams so I subtracted 20-4 and added two dollars every time I subtracted. You can only subtract 20-4 five times so 5x2 is 10. You also have an extra Dirham so you would have two divide that by 2 which is .50 cents. So Jenny would have $10.50

    1. If Jenny had 21 Dirhams she would have 10.25 U.S. dollars.
I disagree with Artis because u make a table. For every time u subtracted 4( every 4 dirhams) that would be U.S. dollars. The amount of times u subtracted (sets of U.S. money) should be multiplied by two to get the total of U.S. dollars. That's only 20 Dirhams so to add the .25 that would be a extra 1/4 of a U.S. dollar which is 21 dirhams.

  2. If Jenny had a total of 21 Dirhams she would have 10.25 dollars in U.S. The amount of times you would subtract it should be multiplied by 2 and thats how you get the total of U.S dollars. That would only be 20 Dirhams. Then you would add the 1/4 or .25 which equals 21 Dirhams

  3. So 1 U.S. dollar is 2 Dirhams that means 20 would be 40 Dirhams. If 20 equals 40 that means 21 would equal 42 Dirhams. Jenny would have 42 Dirhams.

  4. If Jenny has a total of 21 Dirhams she would have 10.25 dollars in U.S dollars . The many times you would subtract . It should be multiplied by 2 and you get the total of U.S dollars. That would only be 20 Dirhams. Then you would add the 1/4 which equals 21 Dirhams

  9. $10.50. To get this answer I found the unit rate of dirahms. The unit rate of dirahms is $0.50 US=1 dirahm. After this I multiplied 21 by 0.5. Therfore stating 21 dirahms equals 10.50 in the US.

    1. I agree with Amanda because 50 cents in US is equivalent to 1 dirham. So then if you multiply 21x0.5 you get 10.50. Therefore, 21 dirhams are equivalent to $10.50 in US.

  10. If jenny had a total of 21 dirhams she has $10.25 in us dollars. How ever many times you subtract that is the amount of times you multiply by 2 which is how you get $10.25 in us dollars. Then add .25 which gives you 21 dirhams.

  11. Jenny would have $10.50. Every 1 US dollar equals 2 Dirhams. That means every Dirham equals 50 cents.
    21 x 0.5= 10.50
    This was my equation.

  12. Jenny would have $10.50. The unit rate is $.50 for every 1 Dirahm. Multiply 21 by $.50 and you get $10.50 as the answer. In the U.S 21 Dirhams equal $10.50. You also can get $10.50 if you dividing 21 by 2.

  15. Jenny has $10.50. 1 Dirham is equal to 50 cents. Then 50 cents by 21 and you get $10.50 as the answer. In the U.S 21 Dirhams equal $10.50. You also can get $10.50 if you dividing 21 by 2.

  16. Jenny would have $10.50. She would have $10.50 because 1 Durham equals 50 cents. So you multiply .50 and 21 to get $10.50

  17. Jenny would have $10.50. She would have $10.50 because one of a Durham equals 50 cents. So you multiply .50 and 21 to get $10.50

  18. jenny would have 10.50. each burham equal 50 cents. 4 time 5 equal 20 with 1 left over divide 20 by 2 equal 10 with that 1 that equal 10.50 .

  19. Jenny would end up with 10.50. She would come out to this amount because a Durham equals 50 cents. So then u multiply .50 and 21 to end up with 10.50
