GP 3 Week 7 Reflection (Due 2/27)

Dante and Jarrod were arguing who made more money at their job.  Dante made $220 a week while Jarrod made $50 a week plus $8.00 per hour.  How many hours would Jarrod need to work to make more money than Dante?  Use three sentences to help justify your answer.

  1. Jarrod needs to work 8 hours.
For each person you set up an equation. Dante makes 200w, Jarrod makes 50w+8h. Therefore Jarrod's deposit is a multi step equation. You plug a number in for h his hours and add 50 until your number or total is greater than Dante.

    2. I disagree with John because if multiply 8 times 8 you get 64. Add that to 50 and you get $114. Which is less than $220. The right answer is 22 hours. If you multiply 8 times 22 you get 176. Add that to 50 and you get 226. Which is more than Dante
