GP 1 Week 3 (Due 9/12)

The sum of 3 consecutive even integers is 216.  What are the integers?

Explain how you found your answer.

  • Consecutive means "one after another", or "in a row". So ...
    The first 4 consecutive numbers are 1,2,3, and 4.
    The first 4 consecutive odd numbers are 1,3,5, and 7.

    10x10(100)
    30x30(90)
    13x13(26)

    I found three numbers that add up to 216. Then I find thereally exponent.All three exponents repeat so there is the even consecutive exponent (2)

    1. Make sure you read the "consecutive" definition. Your three numbers must follow each other.

    1. Very good idea with the equation. SPOT ON. I believe you made a mistake when you saidn 220-6= 216. Make sure you correct your error and resubmit.

    2. 3x + 6 = 216

      3x = 220 - 4

      3x = 216
      I found three expressions that adds up to 216, But I don't know if this qualifies. All three expressions repeat so there is the even consecutive expression.

    1. Good start making sure they are all even numbers but they must be consecutive. EXAMPLE 2+4+6. Obviously this does not equal 216 but this is the form that it needs to be in.

  4. 70+72+74=216

    I found 3 numbers that add up to 216. I knew the last 3 numbers had to be 7(0),7(2), 7(4), 0 ,2, 4. I knew 7x3=21, so the first number had to be 7. And that is how I found the answer.

    1. I agree with alexus because if you divide 216 by 3 you would get 72 then you take 2 from the last number and add it to the first number .

    2. I agree with Alexus because i divide 216 by 3 and got 72 then you take 2 from the last number and add it to the first number to get the answer.

    3. I agree with Alexus because, I divided 216 by 3 and got 72. Then I subtracted that by 216 and got 144. By adding 70 and 74 you get 144, so that's how I got my answer.

      216÷3 = 72
      216-72 = 144
      70+74 = 144

  5. I agree with Alexus because I divided 216 by 3 and got 72 then I took away two from the last number and added it to the first

    2. I agree with Alexus because 216 divided by 3 is 72 and then you take 2 away from the previous number and add it to the first.

    3. 70 + 72 + 74 = 216 I agree with Trenton because I divided 216 by 3 and got 72. But they wasnt different.Then I subtracted 2 from 72 and added it to a 72 and got 70,72,74

  6. 70 + 72 + 74 = 216

    I agree with Trenton because I divided 216 by 3 and got 72. But, they were not different.Then I subtracted 2 from 72 and added it to a 72 and got 70,72,74

    30x30=90
    13x13=26

    I found 3 numbers that add up to 216. All 3 exponents repeats. So the even consecutive exponent 2

  8. I Agree With Trenton Because , When I layed them All Out In A Experssions & Divided 216 By 4 Which Wasn't Right So I Made It Smaller & Used 3 & Got 72 & 74 Then Added & Then later Got 70

  9. 216÷3=74
    74-2=72
    72-2=70
    I agree with Trenton because when I
    divided 216 by 3 i got 74. Trenton added I subtracted. I did 74-2 and I got 72 so I did it again for 70.

    1. You remember you need three sentances! Also, read the def. for consecutive.

  11. I agree with Alexus. I agree with Alexus because 72+74+76=216. The three numbers she chose are even consecutive numbers. That is why I agree with Alexus.

  13. i agree with alexus because the numbers she chose (70-72-74) are consecutive numbers. i added up to make sure it was correct and it gave me 216. that is why i agree with alexus.

  14. I agree with Alexus because 70 72 74 are consecutive. Then when you add them all together you get 216. That is why I agree with Alexus

  15. I agree with Alexus also because 70 72 74 was consecutive .When you add them all up its 216.That why i also agree with Alexus

  16. I agree with Roger i divided 216 by 3 and got 72. I took 2 from the last number and saw that there was bi difference. I then subtracted 2 from 72 and added that to another 72 and got 70,72,74.

  17. I agree with Roger I divided 216 by 3 and the quotient was 72. Then I took 2 from the last number but there was a difference so I subtracted 2 from 72 and added that to 72 and I got the numbers 70,72,74.
