GP Week 6 (DUE 10/3)
Kim said her grocery items cost $25.86. Her mom said that twenty years ago the same items would have cost $20. At this rate, how much would it cost to purchase groceries now which would have cost $50 twenty years ago?
If twenty years ago the price he was 50.00 dollars than now it would be 55.86 dollar because in there situation it only increase by 5.86 so you add that on to 50 to find the future cost(now cost) to find the total cost
The price now would be 55.86. I got this by figuring out how much more is the cost now compared to back then. So the price is 5.86 more than it was back then.
If groceries cost 50.00 dollars 20 years ago, it would now cost 55.86. I know this because it increases by 5.86 dollars. So the price is now 55.86 dollars.
If twenty years ago the price he was 50.00 dollars than now it would be 55.86 dollar because in there situation it only increase by 5.86 so you add that on to 50 to find the future cost(now cost) to find the total cost
The grocery's cost 50 dollars 20 years ago it would cost 55.86 but since 5.86 + 50 = 55.86 The price of grocery's has increased by 5.86 dollars by 20 years ago
The grocery's would cost $44.14 twenty years ago. It would be that much because 25.86-20=5.86. Then would make 50-5.86=44.14 that's how you would get your answer.
I agree with Roger because I subtracted 25.86-20= $5.56. If it were to be $50 back then than I added 50+5.56=$55.56. So if it were to be $50 twenty years ago it would have been $55.56 now.
The answer I got was $64.65 The way i got this was by setting up an equation and solving it. The way i got the equation of 20x=1263 was cross multiplying 25.82/20 and x/50.
I agree with Roger because I subtracted 25.86-20= $5.56. If it were to be $50 back then than I added 50+5.56=$55.56. So if it were to be $50 twenty years ago it would have been $55.56 now.
If twenty years ago the price he was 50.00 dollars than now it would be 55.86 dollar because in there situation it only increase by 5.86 so you add that on to 50 to find the future cost(now cost) to find the total cost
ReplyDeleteI agree with John because, the price did increase by 5.86. So if you add 55.86 to 50, you get 55.86. So the cost to buy groceries now will be 55.86.
DeleteI agree with john too because it increased by $5.86 if you subtract the past by now.

ReplyDelete$25.86 from $20.00 add $30.00 = to the $20.00 it would be $5.86 X 3 so the total would be if the items were $50.00 would be $64.65
