Grading Period 1, Week 3 (Due 9/11)
A sixth-grade class sells Yankees pennants and American Flags. They earn $1 profit for each pennant sold and $6 for each flag sold. They sell items at a total of $92.
1) How many flags did they sell if they sold 20 pennants?
2) Create a different scenario of the amount of each item they could sell to equal $92.00 An example would be 1 flag and 86 pennants.
If the sixth grade-class sold 20 pennants, then they would sell 12 flags. I found this answer by multiplying 20 x 1 = $20, then took the total of $92 and subtracted by $20. This then gave me the answer of $72, I divided $72 by 6 (how much each flag is sold) and got 12 as the quotient. They sold 20 pennants and 12 flags.
Another scenario that could equal $92.00 would be 9 flags and 38 pennants.
The 6th grade students would have sold 12 flags. To get the answer I subtracted $20( the cost of pendents) from $92 and got got $72 left. I take $72 and divid it by $6, getting my answer 12 flags. Another scenario that could equal $92 is 13 flags and 14 pennants.
First I multiplied 12×6. I got the 12 from 72 because it is the 12 multiple of 6 and I got the 6 from 6$ per. Flag. Then I added 20$ and 72$ it was equal to the total 92$. there were 12 flags sold. A different scenario of the amount of each item they could sell to equal 92$ is 7flags and 50pennants
The sixth grade class sold 12 flags and 20 pendants. I found this out by multiplying 1x20=20. Then I subtracted 20 from 92 and got 72. I divided 72 by 6 and got 12 as my answer.
Another example that equals 92 dollars would be 10 flags and 32 pendants.
If the sixth grade class sold 20 pennants, they would have sold 12 flags. I found this by multiplying 20 x 1 = 20. I then subtracted 20 from 92 and got the answer 72. Then I divided 72 by 6 and got 12 as my total. Another scenario that would equal to $92 would be 5 flags and 62 pennants
If the 6th grade class sold 20 pennants that means that they sold 12. All you do to find that out is multiply 20•1=20, next you subtract 20 from 92 and you get 72, then you divide 72 by 6 and you get 12. Another scenario that could equal $92.00 is 9 flags and 38 pennants, Or 13 flags and 14 pennants .😋💯
If they sold 20 pennants then they sold 12 flags, each pennant is $1.00 so the total is $20.00. subtract 92-20 and i got 72 and then divide by 6.00 and you get 12. You could use 13 flags and 14 pennants.
If the sixth graders sold 20 pennants, than there is 12 flags. I got my answer by 20 pennants times $1, which equals $20. Then I took the $92 and subtracted $20 from it, which equals 72. Then i divide it by $6, which equals 12.
The sixth grade class would have sold a total of 20 pennants and 12 flags. I got this answer by using subtraction, 92 minus 20 and that equals 72. I then took that answer and divided it by 6 and the final answer is 12 flags.
if 6th graders sell 20 pennants then they would of sold 12 flags. i got my answer by 20 x 1= 20. then 92 - 20=72. then i divided by 6 which would equal 12. a different scenario would be 15 flags and 2 pennants
The 6th grade students would have sold 12 flags to get the answer I subtracted $20 from $92 and got got $72 left I take $72 and divide it by $6 getting my answer 12 flags another scenario that could equal $92 is 13 flags and 14 pennants.
The 6th graders sold 20 pennants. That means that they would have sold 12 flags. I solved this by doing 92-20=72 then divide 6 because flags cost $6, which equals 12.
Another scenario would be 15 flags and 2 pennants.
If the 6th grade students sold 20 pennants, then they would sell 12 flags.I got this answer by multiplying 20x1=20.Then took the $92 and subtracted by $20,this gave me the answer of $72.I divided the $72 by $6 and got $12.
Another scenario could be 9 flags and 38 pennants.
If the 6th graders sold 20 pennants then that means they sold 12 flags. I got this from doing 92-20 which equals 72, then I divided 72 by 6 (how much the flags cost) which equals 12. Another scenario is 13 flags and 14 pennants
The 6th grade students would have sold 12 flags. I subtracted 20 from 92 and got 72. Then, I divided 72 by 6 and the answer I got was 12. In another scenario, that could equal $92.00 is be 9 flags and 38 pennants.

ReplyDeleteAnother scenario that equals $92 is 5 flags and 62 pennants
the sixth grade class will sell 12 flags. Because 92-20=72 and 72/6=12. Another scenario is 6 flags and 56 pennants
ReplyDeleteif they get $1 for each pennant they sell, and they sold 20 so they got $20 and
ReplyDelete92-20=72 and 72 divided by 6 is 12 so, they sold 12 flags.

They sold 12 flags if they sold 20 pennants.
ReplyDeleteI got my answer by taking away 20 from 92 which is 72. Then I did 6 divided by 72 and got 12.
