The middle school is going to have a walk-a-thon. Justice and Joseph are arguing who made more money per lap. Justice raises $333 for walking 11 laps. Joseph raises $400 for walking 8 laps. How much did each person raise per lap? Who was right?
Justice made $30.37 per lap and Joseph made $50 per lap. I got this by dividing how much money they made by the laps they ran. Joseph was right

ReplyDeleteFor each lap, Justice made $30.27 while Joseph made $50. $50 > $30.27, so Joseph is the one who made more money at the walk-a-thon. I found my answer by dividing the total amount of money both of them earned by the number of laps they did.
