GP 1 Week 5 (Due 9/25)

This is a two part question
If you buy 5 candy bars and a bag of $4.00 gummy worms, the variable expression 5c + 4 represents the total cost of the purchase.

1) If your bill came to $21.00 how much did each candy bar cost?

Suppose the next day you went back to the store and bought 3 DVDs and a video game for $30.  2) Write a variable expression to represent this purchase

  1. The answer is $3.40. I got this answer by taking $21 and subtracting $4 from it getting $17. I take $17 divided it by 5 and get $3.40.
A variable expression to represent this purchase is 3D+V=$30

  2. 1.) Each candy bar you bought costs $3.40 each. What I did to get this answer is subtract 4 from 21.00 and got 17, then I divided 5 from 17 and got $3.40

2.) A variable expression to represents this purchase is 3d+v=$30.00

  3. I did $21.00-$4.00=$17.00. Then I divided $17.00 by 5 and got $3.40. So each candy bar costs $3.40.

A variable expression that represents this purchase would be 3d+v=30.

  4. 21-4.00=17divided by 5=3.40 so each candy bar would equal 3.40
    3d+v=30

  5. If the bill came to be $21, each candy bar would cost $3.40. They would each cost 3.40 because 21 - 4 = 17, and 17/5 = 3.40.

    A variable expression that would represent a purchase of 3 DVD's for $30 would be: 3d + v = 30.

  7. If the bill was $21 then each candy bar would be $3.40. They would be $3.40 because 21-4 is 17 and 17/5 is 3.40.

    A variable expression that represents 3 DVD's for $30 would be 3d+v=30

  8. if the bill came to $21 then each candy bar would be $3.40. they would each cost $3.40 because 21-4=17, and 17/5=$3.40

A variable expression that would represent a purchase of DVD'S for $30 would be: 3d+=$30

  9. If the bill was $21, then each candy bar would cost $3.40. I set up the equation 5c+4=21 and I solved for c. An expression that would represent the purchase of 3 DVDs and a video game for $30 is 3d+v=30.

  10. If the whole bill came up to $21, than each candy bar would come up to $3.40. I got this answer by using the given expression 5c+4=21 and you have to fill in for c. The expression that represents all 3 DVD'S and 1 video game that costs a total of $30 is 3d+v=30

  11. 1. Each candy bar cost $3.40. I got this answer by subtracting $4 from $21 and got $17 as my answer. Then I divided $17 by $5 and got my answer.
    2. A variable expression to represent this purchase would be 3d + 30.

  12. Each candy bar cost $3.40. To get this answer I subtracted 4 from 21 getting me 17. Then divided 17 by 5 to get my answer.

A variable expression to represent this would be 3d+v=30.

  13. 1.) Each of the candy bars cost $3.40. To find my answer you would have to subtract $4 from the $21,which equals $17. Then you would have to divided $17 by $5 to get $3.40.

2.) A variable that would represent this purchase is 3d+v=30

  14. If the bill comes up to $21. Then each candy bar will be 3.40. I got my answer by 5c+4=21. A variable that would represent the purchase is 3d+v=30.

  15. The candy bars are 3.40. I got this By subtracting 21 and 4 giving me 17 For my answer. I then divided 17 by 5 to get my answer. Another variable to represent the purchase us 3d+v=30.

  16. If the bill was $21, then each candy bar would cost $3.40. It would cost $3.40 because 21-4 is 17, then I divided 17/5 and that equals 3.40. A variable expression that represents this purchase is 3d + V = 30.

  17. The answer is 3.40. I subtracted 21.00 - 4.00= 17.00.You divide 17by5 and the total for the candy bars is 3.40.

The expression is 3d+v=$30. 3d for 3 DVDs,v for one video ,and 30 is the total amount for the DVDs and video.

  18. If $21 the bill then 21-4=17. 17 divided by 5 would be 3.40. That means each candy bar would cost 3.40.

An expression that represents this is 3d+V=30

  19. If the total came up to $20 and the gummy worms cost $4 each candy bar cost 3.40 each. How I got that is I subtracted 4 from 21 b/c that's how much the gummy worms cost.but 21-4=17. So then I dived 17by5 and got 3.40 for the cost for each candy bar.
An expression for the second part of the question will be 3d+V=30
