A picture that measures 12 cm by 18 cm is enlarged to 4 times its area. What are the new dimensions?
864 is the area. The area is length times width. So if you split 4 in half that 2 which is multiplied by each dimension. 12 is know 24 and 18 is know 36. 24cm 36cm is 864. 12 by 18 is 216, 216 times four is 864.
