GP 4 Week 5 Reflection (DUE 5/1)
In the old days there were elevator operators to transport passengers. Don Downs always started his day in the basement. He went up 20 floors to take his boss some coffee. Then he went down 8 floors to take a Danish to his friend. He went up 7 floors to check things out. This was the halfway point in the building. How many floors are in this building?

There is 20 floors.
ReplyDeleteIf he starts at 0 and goes up 20 than he is at 20. he goes down 8, 20-8 equals 12 so he is on the 12th level know. if he goes back up 7 he is only at 19. Therefore the maximum he went is 20 so there must be 20 floors

In total there are 20 floors. So if he begins at zero and goes up 20 floors he would be at the 20th floor. Once he there he goes down 8 floors which (20-8) equals 12. Which makes him on 12th floor. If he does go back up he would only be at 19. So there the maximum he had went was 20. Which means in total there were 20 floors. That is how I gotten 20 floors.

ReplyDeleteThere is a total amount of 20 floors. so if he starts at 0 and goes up 20 floors the man will be on the 20th floor. Then he goes down 8 floors, so I subtract 20 - 8 which equals 12. Now he is on the 12th floor, then he goes up 7 which is only 19. so the maximum is 20 floors.

ReplyDeleteIn total there is 20 floors. At the beginning he was at 0, and went up 20 to go to his bosses office. He went down 8 from floor 20, which is the 12th floor. He goes back up 7 which is the 19th floor. The number of floors is 20.

ReplyDeleteThere are 20 floors total. He was on the first floor and then he go up to the 20th floor and when he get there he went do 8th floor that mean he on the 12th floor. He go up 7 floor that mean he be at the 19 floor so that the maximum he had went was 20th floor.

ReplyDeleteThere are 38 floors in the building.Since he starts at the basement and goes up 20 he was on the 20th floor. He went down 8 after that so he was on the 12th floor. Then he went up 7 floors so now he was on the 19th floor. Since the 19th floor is the halfway point you multiply 19 by two and there are 38 floors.

ReplyDeleteThere is 38 floors in the hotel. He starts at zero then goes up to 20. Then goes down 8 20-8=12. Then goes back up 7 which would equal 19. Finally it said that 19 was the half way point of the hotel. 19 + 19 = 38.
