GP 2 Week 3

A sixth-grade class sells Yankees pennants and American Flags.  They earn $1 profit for each pennant sold and $6 for each flag sold.  They sell items at a total of $92.
 1) How many flags did they sell if they sold 20 pennants?

2) Create a different scenario of the amount of each item they could sell to equal $92.00  An example would be 1 flag and 86 pennants.

  1. 1) The answer would be 12 flags. To get this answer I subtracted $92 from the $20 that they had and I got $72, then divided $6 for the amount of each flag and got 12.

2)Another scenario could be 15 flags and 2 pennants.

    1. I agree with her because, she subtacted the total from twenty to find a new total then divided by 6 to get the total of each flag. So twelve flage are 6 dollars a piece.
      15 times 6 is 90 plus 2 equal 92

    2. I agree with Amanda. If you subtract the twenty dollars earned from selling the pennants, the answer will be 72 left, and dividing that by the $6 charge for flags would mean they sold 12 flags.

    3. I agree with Amanda. If you subtract $92 from $20 you will get $72. Divide that by $6 and you will get 12 flags.

    4. I also agree with Amanda because if you subtract $92 from $28 you get $72 . Divide $72 from $6 and you get 12 flags

    7. I agree because she subtacted the total from twenty to find a new total then divided by 6 to get the total of each flag. Each flag is $6 each 15 times 6 equal 90 plus 2 equal 92

  2. They sold 12 flags. 6x+20=92. 20 minus 92 is 72. 72 divided by 6 is 12.
Another scenario would be 2 flags and 80 pennants

  3. I agree with Mason they sold 12 flags I know because 6x+20=92 20 minus 92 is 72. 72÷6=12 another situation could be 15flags 2 pennants

  4. I agree with Amanda , Because if you subtract $92 from $28 you would get $72 . Then you would divide $72 from $6 and you get 12 flags.

  5. 1.) $92.00-$20.00=$72.00 and $72.00/$6.00=12
    they sold 12 flags.

2.) they could've sold 9 flags and 38 pennants and made the same amount that is $92.00 because 9x$6.00=$54.00 and $92.00-$54.00= 38

    1. I Agree With India Because $92-20=$72. Then $72/6=12 Soo They Sold 12 Flags. Another Secenario Would Be 8 Flags And 44 Pennants.

  7. 1)The answer is 12 flags. I got this by subtracting $92 from $20 the you get $72. After you get $72 you divide it by $6 which is 12.

    2) another scenario could be 12 flags 20 pennants.

  8. a. 12 flags is the answer. I subtracted 92 by 20 and I got 72. 72 divide by 6 and got 12 this is how I got answer.
    b. 12 flags 75 pennants

  9. 1 12 flag is the answer because i subtracted 92 and 20 which equal 72 then divide by 6 and that how i got 12.
2 Another scenario would be 12 flashs and 20 pennats

  10. The answer would be 12 flags. You get this by subtracting $20 from 92 and you get $72. Then you would divide $72 by $6 and get 12.
Another scenerio would be 7 flags and 50 pennats.

  11. A. You would need 12 flags with 76 pennants.
    B. Another scenario is 50 pennants and 7 flags. Another scenario is 20 pennants and 12 flags.

  14. I used this equation ax+by=c.
    1.) I did 1(20)+6y=92 which gets you y=12. !2 flags

2.) I did a scenario where their were 6 flags sold. 1x+6(5)=92 and got x=62.
    So 62 penates.

  15. I used this equatio ax+by=c or standard form
    I did 1(20)+6y=92 which gets you y=12. !2 flags

  16. They sold 12 flags. I got that answer by 1 pennant is $1 and 20 pennants is $20. 92-20=72 and 72 divided by 6 is 12.

  17. a) I subtracted 92 by 20 and I got 72. 72 divide by 6 and got 12flags.
    b) One could be 50 pennants and 7 flags.

  18. I agree with Oscar because he had subtracted 92 with 20 and he gotten 72 which was what I had gotten too. And he then divided 72 with 6 which is 12. That's the same thing I had got. Which makes this right and I also agree with his scenario cause his scenario makes sense cause of 50 pennants and 7 flags.
