A snack mix requires a total of 120 ounces of some corn cereal and some wheat cereal. Corn cereal comes in 12 ounce boxes.
Since corn cereal comes in 12 ounce boxes and you used 5 boxes last time, multiply 12 and 5. 12 x 5 = 60 oz of corn cereal. 120 oz - 60 oz = 60 oz left over of wheat cereal. To find how many ounces are in one box of wheat cereal, divide 60 by 4. 60/4 = 15. There are 15 oz of wheat cereal in one box. Mary Thongleuth.
With a total of 120 ounces of wheat and corn cereal, 12 oz/box of corn cereal, there are 5 corn and 4 wheat. 5x12=60oz of corn cereal in this mix. 60/4 boxes of wheat equal 15 ounces per box of wheat. to check this; 15x4=60oz 12x5=60oz 60oz+60oz=120oz total
I agree with Leah because she multiplied 5x12 and got 60oz. Then when I divided 60\4 I got 15oz per box. When I checked my answer it was the same as Leah .
I agree with Leah if you have a total of 120 you would multiply 4 by 12 and get 60 the 12 is from how many oz it is then multiply 12 by 5 it equals 60 also then add 60 by 60 and you get 120 which is the total onces of wheat u have
To get the answer you multiply 5 and 12. 12x5= 60 then you subtract 60 from 120. 120-60=60 then you divide 60 from 4. 60/4= 15. so the wheat cereal has 15oz per box.
First multiply 12 and 5 12x5=60 and get 60 then subtract that from 120 which is 60 and with that divide 4 from 60 and you will get 15 that is the amount of ounces in a wheat cereal box.
Multiply 12 and 5 and the product is 60. Next, you subtract 60 from 120, which is the required number of some wheat cereal and some corn cereal in ounces. The quotient would be 60. Then you divide 4 from 60 and get 15. Therefore, the answer is 15oz per box.
I agree with all the people who says that there are 15oz. of wheat per box. This is why I agree with them. When you multiply the 5 boxes of corn by 12oz(the amount of oz. per corn cereal) you will get 60oz. which is how much oz. of corn cereal you used. Then to find out how much oz. of wheat you used, subtract 60oz from the total 120oz., this will get you 60oz. which is the amount of wheat oz. you used. After this, divide 60oz by 4(number of wheat cereal boxes) which will give you 15oz. So therefore there are 15oz. of wheat cereal per box. 5 x 4 = 60 120 - 60 = 60 60/4 = 15
I agree with those before me because if there are 12 oz of corn cereal in one box then you have to do 5*12 which equals 60 and120-60 equals 60 and that's how many oz of wheat cereal there are and there's 4 boxes so you have to do 60/4which equals 15 which is how many boxes of cereal there are
I agree with all the people case i check it .First you do 5x12 case there are 12oz of cereal in a box and 5 box when you time it you get 60.Than you do 120-60=60 case you subtract from the total 120oz than you.Now you do 60/4 which equal 15 case there are 4 number of wheat box and you get 15oz.
Question #1
ReplyDeleteThe last time you made this mix, you used 5 boxes of corn cereal and 4 boxes of wheat cereal. How many ounces are in a box of wheat cereal?
The first thing you do is 10 times 5 which would be 60oz. So you have 60oz left. Finally there must be 60oz of wheat cereal in the snack mix. :)
ReplyDeleteI divided 12 by 120 like this 120/12 because then you can get the amount of 12 ounce cereal boxes you would need for the snack mix.
ReplyDeleteYou have to first divide 12 by 120 to find out how many boxes of corn cereal you need to have a 120 ounce snack mix

ReplyDelete5x12=60oz of corn cereal in this mix. 60/4 boxes of wheat equal 15 ounces per box of wheat. to check this;
15x4=60oz

60oz+60oz=120oz total

ReplyDelete12o divided by 12 equals 10. There are 10 wheat boxes.
ReplyDeleteYou need to divide 120 by 12, Which is 10. So the answer is 10 wheat boxes.
