DUE SEPTEMBER 19
The greatest distance that a baseball has been thrown is 445 feet, 10 inches. Is this greater or less than the length of a football field from goal line to goal line? By how much? Tell how you made your decision.
HINT: A football field is 100 yards from goal line to goal line.

A Football Field Is 100 Yards Goal To Goal 100 Yards= 300 Ft. The baseball was thrown 445 ft and 10in. There for he threw the baseball farther then the length of the football field goal to goal. 445.10-300=145.10ft. I subtracted the length of the football field goal to goal which is 300 ft from the length of the football field goal to goal.
ReplyDeleteI agree because if you just convert yards into feet, then it'll be 300 feet. Then subtract 300 from 445.10, which is 145.10 feet. So the answer is that the baseball was thrown greater than the length of the football field by 145.10 feet.

DeleteI agree because like everyone says if u subtract 300 from 445.10 you will get 145.10. When I did all the calculation it gave me the same answer. So that's mean that it's more than a football flies.

Deletei agree for you have to turn yards into feet ( 1 yard =3 feet so 100 x 3) which would make 300 feet. then you subtract 300 from 445.10 (445.10 - 300) which equals 145.10. Making the distance the ball traveled greater than the field.

I agree with the previous comments. once converted the 100 yrds then equals about 300. Since the ball was thrown 445ft and 10in It was thrown farther. Then the football field.

Delete100 yards = 300ft. 445.833333333-300 after you subtract it will equal 145.833333333. which the baseball thrown is 145.833333333ft greater than a football feild
Delete...the mistake a few people made was 145.10 which is wrong. .10 is not 10 inches. .833333333ft = 10 inches. Thus being the answer of 145.833333333ft.

ReplyDeleteToday we looked at 1.7. What we learned was independent and dependent variables. Input and output tables and how to read them. Learning what the words domain and range mean in that situation.

In algebra today we looked at 1.8. we learned how to graph function tables on graphing paper. In order to graph them we had to pair them. For example the input is 2 and the output is 4 it would be graphed like 2,4 on the graphing paper.

We learned about significant digits and precision. Precision is how precise a measurement. An example of this:
40cm. or 16in.
40cm. is the correct answer because it is a smaller unit of measure and smaller units are more precise then bigger units.
i agree with the answer.a few days ago we learned about significant digits. For example in the number 4,000 4 is the sd because it is the only non zero number.

DeleteI know that a football field is 100 yds long from goal line to goal line. I also know that there are 3ft in a yard so I did 100 x 3 =300ft in a football field. So 300ft is less than 445ft 10in.
